Fleetwood v Portsmouth

Fleetwood host Portsmouth on Tuesday evening in what is the Cod Armys
first match since sacking Uwe Rosler.

Boss Rosler lost his job on Saturday after the 3-0 League One loss at
Doncaster, 20th-placed Fleetwoods seventh-successive defeat in all

Coaches Barry Nicholson and David Lucas are taking charge of Tuesdays
game as the club searches for Roslers successor. Defender Kevin OConnor
could be a doubt having come off at half-time at the Keepmoat Stadium
with an injury.

Portsmouth head into the contest with Nathan Thompson, Gareth Evans and
Brett Pitman all unavailable after their exits from Saturdays 3-1 loss
at Southend. Thompson is suspended having been shown the red card, while
Evans and Pitman limped off at Roots Hall and are likely to be out for
weeks rather than days, Pompey boss Kenny Jackett has said.

However, Matty Kennedy, who missed the out at the weekend due to an
ankle issue, is fit again. Jack Whatmough could be back involved as
well, having recovered from a knee injury.

Fleetwood have hosted Portsmouth just once before in any competition, a
3-1 win in League Two in March 2014.

Portsmouths 4-1 win in the reverse fixture in September was their first
victory over Fleetwood in three meetings having lost the first two in
League Two in the 2013-14 campaign.

Fleetwood have lost five consecutive league games, shipping two or more
goals in each match. They have never lost six in a row in the Football

Pompey have picked up just one win in their last eight matches in league
competition (D2 L5).

It was a shame that Uwe Roslers reign at Fleetwood had to end in the way
it did. They were so impressive last season and it should be remember
that this is only their fourth ever campaign at this level.

Portsmouth have slipped a little away from top-six contention lately and
look short of confidence. This wont be a pretty game but Im backing the
Cod Army to return to winning ways.

predicts: 1-0
