Troyes vs Dijon

Troyes are battling in the depths of the Ligue 1 (L1) standings going
into this round 24 postponed encounter, hovering just one point above
the relegation zone; whilst Dijon will want to try to pull themselves
out of the lower-half of the table.

In six previous encounters at the Stade de l’Aube in Ligue 2 (L2),
Troyes have won five and the other game was drawn. Indeed, Troyes is an
unhappy hunting ground for Dijon as they have never won a single league
game there.

Troubled Troyes were on a run of three straight away defeats in all
competitions when they finally stopped the rot at home by beating Metz
1-0 last Saturday. Thanks to this win, Jean-Louis Garcia’s men propelled
themselves out of the relegation zone and currently sit 15th in the

After recording two straight wins at home in the league, Dijon were then
trounced 4-0 by high-flying Monaco on the road last Friday. Because of
this away loss, Olivier DallOglio’s team slipped to 13th place in the
league table ahead of this round.

Players to watch: Troyes’ Adama Niane is doing well this season after
scoring six goals and delivering two assists – he has three goals in his
last four matches in L1.

Dijon’s top performer so far is Julio Tavares – he has nine league goals
and two assists. The 29-year-old Cape Verdean has scored five goals in
his last six league matches.

Stat attack: Troyes are on a run of five straight wins against Dijon in
the top flight (L2), conceding only one goal in the process. They have
the joint-second best home defence conceding only 11 goals in 13 league

Dijon are on a dreadful run of seven straight losses in L1 conceding at
least two goals in the last six. With 35 goals conceded in 12 away
matches so far, they have the worst away defence in the League.

Troyes and Dijon face each other at Stade de l’Aube in a postponed
fixture. Troyes did well to pick up all three points from Saturday’s
relegation six-pointer against Metz, with the team moving away from
bottom three. Troyes’ top flight status, though, is still in great
danger and they will have to be at their sharpest in the remainder of
the season if they are to secure yet another elite division survival. As
expected, Dijon suffered a heavy 4-0 loss to Monaco in their last league
match, with the team extending their losing run on the road to seven
games. Dijon’s displays on the travels leave a lot to be desired and we
predict that they are going to return home empty-handed from the trip to
Troyes. When the two teams met at Stade de l’Aube in Ligue 2 four years
ago Troyes recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Dijon.
